Kampfgruppe Normandy.

I recently bought the Kampfgruppe Normandy rules in the half price sale, the full price had put me off previously like a lot of others it seems… given the number of people I’ve spoken to who have bought it in the same sale. To be fair you do get a huge full colour glossy rulebook for your money with plenty of scenarios in, on the other hand the full price of £48 is pretty steep and it only covers the Normandy campaign (the lists in the book are UK Armoured, UK Infantry, US Armoured, US Infantry, SS Panzer, Heer Panzer, Heer Infantry, Fallschrimjager).

So far I’ve umpired 2 games of it, yet to actually play in one though. The system is really straightforward; both players picked it up quickly (though they did seem to under use Suppressing fire- I’ll have a word with them before the next game). I’ve taken a few pics so i thought I’d put them here.

Projects

Over the next few days I’m planning to write up each project, list what I’ve got done and what needs doing with it.

This should give me some idea of where I am with each one. I’m imagine they’ll fall into three camps (or be a mix of all three): 1) I’ll need to buy more stuff to finish off the project. 2) I’ll need to paint the stuff I’ve already got to game the project. 3) I’ll need to develop the rules/ scenarios to game the project.

That said it’s the Fiasco Show at Leeds tomorrow so I may very well get tempted into something new….

It begins….

Why Blog eh? It’s not like I’m ahead of the curve on this one… Well my scatterbrained approach to gaming has resulted in a shed full of kits and figures in various states of completion but as I’m jumping from one thing to another I’m not getting the most out of things. I thought by blogging a project I’ll get more work done in a shorter time and so get more gaming done. I mean that’s why I got the toys in the first place. As much as enjoy painting and building it’s not the be all and end all of things. Last year in fact I decided to only speed paint figures from now on: I’ve stuff a decade old at least which hasn’t seen a paint brush let alone a table so I’m trying to up my productivity.

That’s the plan anyway- see where we go from here….
