Rodent War.

As I mentioned a few posts ago I’ve had a minor damp problem in the shed. However I found something much more insidious and potentially destructive in there today. I’ve been re-basing my trees (all the hexes you may have noticed in previous photos have gone- all the trees are on smaller round bases for more flexibility) and I was putting a batch away this afternoon and saw unidentified rodent poo in the terrain box….

After cleaning things up I had a check around and can see no other sign of them, in fact this is the first evidence I’ve seen of any rodents in the 10+ years I’ve been in this house.

I’ve asked about for some top tips to get rid of them and they are ranged from the sensible to the ingenious to the violent but all of them good, though any more would be gratefully received.

I think tomorrow I will go down to B and Q to see what I can get to start me off. I’m not worried about them getting in to the house as Mickey will sort them out.

Mr. Mickey checking deployments at the start of a Vietnam game. I've had him since the New Year; he is 4 and I took him in as a house cat after his original owner sadly passed away. Don't let his bulk deceive you, he is a fighter not a lover and I've seen him jump 4 foot up to catch an errant moth before now.

For those of you that were expecting or hoping for a Stalingrad themed post I can only apologize. I’ll will put on up tomorrow.

Cheers,

Pete.

  1. Hey nice kitty:) Yes I know about Mice we live in the Middle of 4 fields. We have two cats inside one out. So they do ok but still have problems in winter the worst, but we can’t use poison same reason you can’t pets. We just Tried Electric Mouse trap and it’s Super Good! It is the best item we have tried. It’s to small for pets to get shocked even our whee Pups:) can’t get their tiny noses in. If your still having problems give it a try runs about 20$ USD got it at Wally World.
If you need name just drop me a line:)
Take care Pete And say hi to the Big Fellow there hope he got the VC:)

Thanks Dave. My cat is an indoor one- She is prett chilled out and rather small so I wouldn’t risk her as an exterminator. Thankfully they haven’t come back.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

  2. Glad they have not returned:)
