From the Shed: Merkava IV

Apologies for the nearly month long silence… been busy irl- all of it good thankfully.

Anyway here is a little something I’ve finished a Hobby Boss IDF Merkava IV MBT to give me a pair in 1/72nd.

As usual it was painted by brush in acylics them weathered with oil paint and pigment powders. I need to find a suitable figure to go in the commanders hatch that I left open.

  1. Very nice, Pete! Even the Mark IV retains quite a bit of character! 🙂

  2. Love the weathering Pete – really nice.

Agreed with Mark. The scratched-up paint look on it looks fantastic!

  4. […] I decided to weather these slightly differently by adding pigments – inspired by Pete’s blog and a Merkava he built. […]

  5. Nice one! Looks Awesome my friend. Love this tank it is a Great Tank ! It can carry Its own Infantry Support. I think all tanks should do that. That way if you are caught with no infantry APCs with you you still have Infantry support. It’s a Very Smart Idea. They can also jump out and hold Buildings and such.

Thanks. I heard that in an emergency the IDf fitted 21 in the back of a Merkava once. Needs must I guess. Like you say it is a useful feature to have on a tank. Makes casualty evacuation easier too when the worst happens.
