From the shed: Creature Swarms.

One of the monster types that can spawn in a game of Zone Alfa is swarms of creatures. I didn’t have any in my collection and thought that they might be tricky to scratch build so I bought a few from the Reaper Bones collection.

4 bases of rats, and 2 each of spiders and beetles should be enough for my purposes. They were fun and quick to do too. The Reaper Bones models are made of a funny plastic but they took (brush on) paint well. I’ll be getting some more of them.

From the Shed: Nurgle Terminators.

I’ve been slowly working my way through my backlog of minis. Now that there is a new (9th) edition of 40k coming out it give me extra impetus to get a decent sized army painted. So to help that along I’ve finished off my Death Guard Terminators.

I had already painted one of the blightlord terminators for a Kill Team game so I do have a squad of five in total. They all came from the Dolorous Strain box set.

I’ve also got a little squad of the Death Shroud versions- topoled up for melee they should be fairly powerful in the game.

Unfortunately I used up the rest of my Death Guard Green so I need to wait until the shops open back up to get some more to finish off my characters and Daemon Prince. Then it will be pretty much army done.

From the Shed: Chaos Cultists.

I love these little models- painted up 30 of them now. Great fillers as horde type cannon fodder for either my Death Guard army or to be worked into a Necromunda campaign.

I went for a mix of colours, keeping them fairly bright too, green, blue and a pink/ purple mix.

If you are interested… here is where I take my photos. It is a nicely waethered bit of stone by my back door (yes I need to tidy it up a bit).

Post will be a bit sporadic going forward. Nicola and I have come down with a mild case of Covid-19. Nothing too serious but it is surprisingly debilitating.

Cheers,

Pete.
