Autumn 2020 Update

The past 2 months I’ve been a bit ill, not really ill just annoyingly so which has stopped me doing as much as I’ve liked… long story short I’m one of those people who, after a mild case of covid have developed the so called ‘long covid’ symptoms. What energy I have got is going on my uni work.

I’ve been keeping my hand in though working on bits and pieces here and there. I find the odd painting session does wonders for my mental health and lifts my mood.

Gaming has been all online bar one exception. Given the high rate of covid cases in my area we are currently under restrictions of not being able to mix in doors with people outside your bubble – good thing I’ve got a gamer (my mate not Nicola she counts as household) in mine. The rules are quite contradictory and hard to follow but you do what you can. The good thing is I’m getting 2 night’s gaming in a week with an online group that I’ve gamed with in the past when we could face to face.

I’ve been taking pictures of everything so I shall upload them as time permits so you can see what I’ve been working on. The printer is proving to be great fun, plenty printed out and I’m enjoying tweaking it and trying to get the best out of it with small scale prints.

I hope everyone is well and stays safe.

Cheers,

Pete.

Look after yourselves over there and hopefully the long tail has an ending, and soon.

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Azazel. There are new clinics announced today to treat long covid so we’ll see what comes of that.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

      • Azazel says:

That’s some good new in the circumstances at least. Hopefully we can get something like that here as well. We have a family member who is in much the same situation post-covid.

      • Pete S/ SP says:

Sorry to hear about the Azazel- I wish them a swift recovery. I’ve more follow up blood test and ultrasounds booked now so will have to see what they bring.

        Cheers,

        Pete.

I’m sorry to hear this Pete. You are the third or fourth person I know who has contracted COVID and every one has said how it hangs on and takes the energy out of them. I hope you will feel better soon.

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Brian- it is really draining and the frustrating thing is I just have to ride it out as no one know the full prognosis of this. The news has announced extra help for sufferes so I’ll see what that offers.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

  6. I hope you shake it off sooner rather than later Pete. All the best buddy.

Sorry to hear you’re still under the weather man, this “long Covid” sounds like a real pain. Take care and get well soon mate. I know what you mean about the rules being quite confusing now, at least when we were in full lockdown it was straightforward and we knew what was what (nobody moves, nobody gets hurt) – now I keep having to remind myself which rules are current and which aren’t. Plus a lot of the time I see English rules being reported up here, which just makes things even more confusing as they don’t apply to us (probably the same thing is happening in reverse). I think, if I recall correctly, that you can meet up to six people – unless you want to meet more – but only in a sandwich shop or the local B&Q, and someone has to be blowing bubbles. Or maybe that was last week…

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Wudgast. It is confusing. That said I do givbe the politicians the benefit of the doubt trying to balance health of a nation against its economy combined with the science and research into the disease being updated so frequently. Must be very hard to make a ‘good’ decision with such imperfect information. I just hope we avoid another full lockdown again. Shops and cafes/ pubs are open here but with limitations.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

  8. Hope you start feeling better soon, Pete! 🙂 Good that you can get some gaming and painting done!

I think the COVID rules are really strict here in the NE of England – I’m not allowed to have a reflection in a mirror indoors within two metres of myself, so it makes having a shave pretty difficult! 😉 I might just have made that rule up – if so, it probably won’t be long before someone somewhere decides it should become law!

  9. I’ve read about that sounds rather grim I hope you are holding up alright. And looking forward to seeing pics of the bits you have managed to do, glad to hear the printer is enjoyable to use.

Going to be a good winter for pulling the blankets up to your nose and burrowing into the sheets with a hot mug of Ovaltine laced with rum 🙂

    Regards, Chris.

Take care, mate. You will fully recover with time and patience, I’m sure.

Was just thinking earlier this week I hadn’t seen a post of yours in awhile Pete. Glad you are getting in some gaming and hobbying at least. If this wall of comments tells us anything it’s you have a lot of support from your online pals, looking forward to seeing some project pictures!

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Yeti. The blogging community is really great. It is so nice to share interests and projects as well as giving and recieving support with like minded people from around the world.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

  13. Shit man, that’s no good. You’re a tough cookie though and you’ll be well before you know it.
