I was sick of playing kill team with terrain that was only undercoated so I’ve started a puysh to get it all painted. I painted these statues and the ruins first.
Basic acrylic paint job with an oil wash to finish. For the small amount of effort I put into them they look pretty good.
Cheers,
Pete.
Simple but effective! π I like the statues!
Thanks. Block paint and oil wash works really well on these big pieces I think.
Cheers,
Pete.
Sometimes simple is all you need! Kill team eh? I’m about to go the other way as we have just taken delivery of Dead Zone by Mantic games.
(I’ll be going simple on the scenery there too π)
Cheers Roger.
Thanks Roger. Good choice with Dead Zone- played a game with my mate who own’s it- it is a great game.
Cheers,
Pete.
Nice work dude, how easy are the oil washes to deal with? Do you need solvents to clean the brushes?
Thanks.
Oil washes are great- just make sure that you seal what ever you are going to apply them too as they can lift acrylic paint. They seem to flow and sit much better than the acrylic ones I’ve tried- especuially for bigger models. Also a few tubes of oil paint and some odourless thinner is much more cost effective than GW or Army Painter washes. Given how much Turps stinks and how that gives me a headache I’ve gone on to odourless stuf I get from the art shop in town. Bit pricer but worth it imo.
Cheers,
Pete.
Cheers Pete, might look into that, certainly impressed with the results π
Excellent- let me know how you get on.
Cheers,
Pete.
Those look great! It is amazing the difference even a quick paint job can make!
Thanks Jeff. Big bits like this are always easy to do.
Cheers,
Pete.
Nice Pete, get em into a game!
Thanks Mark. Shouldn’t be too long as I’ve just about finished off another kill team to try out.
Cheers,
Pete.
Sweet looking set(s) of terrain there, Pete!
Thanks- all from the various Kill Team boxes I’ve been buying.
Cheers,
Pete.
