From the Shed: Servants of the Abyss. TAKE TWO

As it appears yesterday’d blog post was a faliure I’ll have another go at it….

I’ve just finished painting up the Servant/ Cultists of the Abyss from GW. They originally came in the Blackstone Fortress boxed game but were available seperately for a short while. Extra Chaos Cultists are always welcome round these parts and the Negavolt Cultist are rather nice, being as they are the first offical dark mechanicus figures that Gee Dub have produced, despite them being referenced in the lore/ fluff for years. Great to see more beastmen too, I remember the good old days when you could take them in Imperial Guard armies, it does seem that GeeDub are putting these little hints to the past in the box games recently, fan service for the long service gamers I guess, In recent months we’ve seen Zoats return as well as Squats and Beastmen as hired guns in Necromunda.

I’ve given these figures a quick run out with Kill Team, they weren’t particularly good but fun to play. Given I mostly go for narrative games rather than meta- chasing ultra competitative stuff.

Cheers,

Pete.

From the Shed: More additions to my Death Guard Forces….

Been a busy month this month so I’ve not got as much donews as I wanted still. I’ve finished the penultimate back of my death guard forces.

There is the new Lord of Virulance, a selection of Plague Marines and finally a Rhino that I resuced from scrap and detailed with parts from the bits box, I think it looks the part. Furthermore it should get my slow moving troops across the table a bit quicker too.

Cheers,

Pete.

From the Shed: A Couple of quick tank barriers.

I’ve just finished this book on the war in the Ukraine. An interesting little read for the ‘other side’ as it were.

These tank traps come from that conflict and were printed by me. The snow is a mixture of white tectured paint and 1mm white static grass. The figure amongst them is a 20mm US infantryman from Elhiem. Some tufts were added to which the static grass was glued.

Cheers,

Pete
