From the Shed: More additions to my Death Guard Forces….

Been a busy month this month so I’ve not got as much donews as I wanted still. I’ve finished the penultimate back of my death guard forces.

There is the new Lord of Virulance, a selection of Plague Marines and finally a Rhino that I resuced from scrap and detailed with parts from the bits box, I think it looks the part. Furthermore it should get my slow moving troops across the table a bit quicker too.

Cheers,

Pete.

  1. Great bunch! Lovely painted! The balance of hues seems perfect!

They look outstanding, and great work on the rhino!

  3. Wudugast says:

Looks excellent, a right manky bunch. Great rescue job on the rhino.

Thank you. That batch now give me at least one of every weapon available to the Plague Marines… now just got to work out which is best in what situation. The Rhino should get them across the table a bit quicker too now.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

Some worthy additions to your mighty Death Guard. Let their esteemed ranks fester and swell.

Nice ride too, though I find it sad that your splendid terminator is going to have to ride on top. A good thing he has all of that armor to inoculate, er, shield him.

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Ann. My plan for all the Terminator armoured forces I have is to have them deep strike in, should save on their boot leather, as they aren’t the fastest unit out there.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

      • Ann says:

Yes, that is what I almost always did with my terminators as well since I never painted a ride for them — never liked painting vehicles for some reason. As you say, they are pretty slow.

      • Pete S/ SP says:

Yeah, there is always the temptation to get a Land Raider for them too….

        Cheers,

        Pete.

      • Ann says:

I was often tempted to do that, back when I was playing more, for my own terminators. The problem I found for myself was I was playing fairly low point games and between the terminators and the vehicle it was too many points in one basket.
they easily countered it, hence the “basket” comment. So I ended up deep striking them, mostly, and usually to good effect.

      • Pete S/ SP says:

Yeah I can see that happening. Need a few more games to see what works best for me I think.

        Cheers,

        Pete.

Super stuff. There’s a satisfying sensation of heavy metal about it.

  6. Jeff Groves says:

Nicely painted, Pete! Interesting how you colour pallet blends in with the step in your garden, I like the effect.

    • Pete S/ SP says:

Thanks Jeff. That little step gets quite green when it has been wet and damp and today has been the first day without some rain for a while so I was able to go out and do some photos.

      Cheers,

      Pete.

  7. Very nice, Pete! 🙂 I do like that Rhino!

  8. Azazel says:

They look really sweet! Great work on the Rhino recovery as well – I’d have never guessed!

  9. davekay says:

Nice work once again Pete, these are great additions to your force!

  10. Great stuff, Pete, that green colour work so well on them!

    Cheers Roger.

  11. Well done Pete – clearly you put a good deal of planning into these – and it shows.
