From the Shed: Boer War British.

One of the tasks I set myself a while back was to start a Second Boer War skirmish project. Well the first part has been completed: a good number of 20mm Strelets plastic brits.

I painted them in two batches using contrast paint for the main colour, this meant that they were a quick job but I do think that the overall effect is quite good.

Here is a close up of one each of all the poses.

Now all I have to do is find the bag full of Boer figures I know I’ve got somewhere in the shed….

Very cool! You don’t see the Boer War very often. Are you doing early war or late war?

Thank you- probably the later part of the war- that part fits in with my interest in guerrilla warfare and will be more amenable to be recreated on the table top in skirmish games I think.

  3. Very nice, Pete! πŸ™‚ Will be good to see your Boers! And it reminds me that I painted the equipment wrong on my Boxer Rebellion Brits and really need to get that corrected!

  4. Tidy work Pete πŸ‘πŸΌ

Check to see if the resin panels for a Aztec temple are with them. I cant find them anywhere!

Nicely done. I like contrast paints. I’m not painting Golden Demon models. I am trying to paint armies. Any “cheat” helps!

Excellent work Pete. What would we do without our sheds……….probably have one less bedroom for the kids!
