From the Shed: Eureka NBC Soviets.

Following on from my recent Zona Alfa interest I’ve finished up a small batch of the Eureka Miniatures NBC Soviets. They are great figures, only slightly smaller than the Under Fire ones I’ve been using, they are a good fit with the Copplestone ones though.

I went for the tank crew and a few individual soldiers as a sample of the range.
The tank crew in NBC masks look great- rather heavily armed too really.
Three riflemen in the pea green rubber oversuit.

I’ll be getting enough later on for at least a full squad and possibly the AAHMG too as it looks a good set. Eureka Miniatures can be bought in the UK from here.

Those are great figures, the Tank crew are a great set, as are the nbc squad. Good painting too! I like the green, looks a lot like the Chernobyl clean-up photos you see.

Thank you. The Chernobyl disaster looms large in my childhood memories- I remeber watching as much footage as I could of it with horrified fascination.

I always thought the Soviet gas masks were a bit creepy!

That they are Jeff. The are used to excellent effect in the UK revenge film ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’ I really recommend it if you’ve not seen it.

Great work Pete. You have just beat me to getting mine done. They should appear in a few days!

  4. These look great Pete, the remind me a a PC game I played years ago called Stalker, it was set in Chernobal.

  5. Nice work as always Pete. 🙂

  6. Nice Work Pete, some great looking miniatures there.

    Look good, Pete!

  8. Those look really good, Pete! 🙂 Reminds me that I need to dig out a very old photo of me in my NBC suit when I was in the TA in the early ’80s!

  9. Those are great figures, they could be used for so many different scenarios too, UFO crash site investigators sprang into my mind for some reason 😀.

    Cheers Roger.

Thanks Roger- they are very flexible figures. I’ll be able to use them is standard Cold War goes hot games as well as any Sci fi scenarios I can come up with.

  10. Got a kind of near future wars look to them

  11. Nice work Pete. Of course, I still see them as targets…the Soviet Doctrine on employing chemical agents (and bio) was really creepy. Thank God that it did not happen.

  12. Hi Pete, I’ve finally found the pic of me in my NBC suit! But I’ve mislaid your e-mail address – if you drop me a line I’ll send you the pic!
